NOTICE OF PROPOSED TEMPORARY USE PERMIT

TAKE NOTICE THAT The City of Grand Forks has received an application for a Temporary Use Permit to allow the operation of an extreme weather shelter in a portion of the building at 2320 78th Avenue. Council will be considering the permit in a special meeting at 10:00AM on November 3rd 2020 in the Council Chambers at City Hall.
A package containing details of this application and supporting documentation may be inspected between the hours of 9:00am and 3:30pm, Monday through Friday (excluding holidays) until October 30th, 2020.

NOTICE OF TEMPORARY USE PERMIT

TAKE NOTICE THAT pursuant to the Local Government Act, the City of Grand Forks is considering issuing a Temporary Use Permit to allow a temporary seasonal drive-in theatre and other temporary community events and activities on a property zoned R-2 Small Lot Residential located at 2420 68th Avenue. The lands are legally described as Lot 1 District Lots 380 & 520 SDYD Plan KAP64274.

The intended purpose of the Temporary Use Permit is to allow specific temporary and seasonal activities such as a drive in theatre, temporary RV and tent camping, community celebrations and non-profit group meetings to occur on this 2.8 hectare (7 acre) lot for up to three (3) years from the issue date of the permit (potentially renewable for an additional three (3) years). A series of conditions are also proposed regarding the duration of events, parking, lighting, security and maintenance.

You are invited to have your say about this proposal at the Electronic Council meeting at 2:00 pm on Monday June 15th, 2020 by joining the meeting via Zoom Video Conferencing (Zoom Meeting ID: 890 2551 9212, password: 886960).

To participate by Zoom Video Conferencing, in addition to the meeting ID number set out above, you must first download Zoom on your computer or the Zoom App on your phone, which is available at www.zoom.us. It is recommended that this be done and tested well in advance of the Council meeting to ensure that the connections work. Please set your name prior to connecting. You will be placed in a waiting room prior to being admitted to the meeting.

Written comments or concerns regarding this application may be mailed to City Hall (PO Box 220, Grand Forks, BC, V0H 1H0), or emailed to dsheets@grandforks.ca by 2:00pm on June 12, 2020. Alternatively, please phone the Development, Engineering and Planning Department at 250-442-8266. All comments will be passed on to City Council.

TAKE NOTICE THAT pursuant to the Local Government Act, the City of Grand Forks is considering Bylaw No. 2039-A7 to amend the Zoning Bylaw to rezone 2680 75th Avenue, legally described as Lot 1, DL 520, SDYD, Plan EPP32167, PID 029-148-405, from the current R1 (Single &Two Family Residential 1) zone to R2 (Small Lot Residential 2) zone.

TAKE FURTHER NOTICE THAT Council for the City of Grand Forks will also be considering a Development Variance Permit application to reduce the setback distance to the rear property line.
