Currently City officials are monitoring the flooding situation in the City for any potential impacts as the water is rising.
The City and RDKB continue to track all of the river flows, forecasts, and weather, and are in contact with Emergency Management BC and the BC River Forecast Centre. Forecasts show river levels continuing to rise through the afternoon to evening before settling down.
The City has protective measures in place around our new flood protection infrastructure under construction. Crews are out dealing with any local flooding impacts around roads and drainage. If you see an issue, please call 250-442-8266 for the City’s after hours call out.
Please stay well away from all river banks as ground may be saturated and unstable and may continue to be hazardous even after the water recedes.
For further regional information and all evacuation alerts and updates, please see https://emergency.rdkb.com. In the event of an immediate emergency, please call 911.
