Emergency Fire Service

Grand Forks Fire/Rescue is committed to providing professional emergency fire rescue services to the Community of Grand Forks. Our 3 stations are made up of brave souls who risk their lives every day in order to keep our community safe. We also work toward improving fire safety awareness via Public Safety, Fire Prevention, Community Support and more.

Grand Forks Fire Rescue responds to a variety of types of calls including:
Fire calls, First Responder calls, Auto Extrication calls, Confined Space Rescue calls, Medical First Responder calls, and High Angle Rescue calls. As well, members of the Department are training in response techniques for Hazardous Material Spill calls.

Campfire Permit

Before applying for a campfire permit, please read the conditions, restrictions, and permit duration.

Anyone burning without a local burning permit or breaking the rules of their permit may be subject to fines up to $2,000 or be charged with the cost of putting out the fire by their fire service.

Carson Road Hall (Station 352) – Reservoir Rd.

Downtown Hall (Station 354) – Second  St.

Firefighter Work Experience Program (WEP)

Completed fire training and looking for opportunities to improve your chances of getting hired on to a career fire department? Grand Forks Fire Rescue has 4 WEP positions that will be filled each year!

Being a WEP firefighter provides knowledge and experience that fire departments look for in new recruits. This challenging and rewarding opportunity offers you the ability to maintain and enhance your previously acquired skills while responding to emergencies and performing required station duties.

A 12 month commitment to the work experience program is required, with the exception of those hired on to a career fire department during their program.
