SECURITY CONTRACTOR

 

The City of Grand Forks is seeking Expressions of Interest for the provision of security services for a one-year period on a contract basis.

 

The Security Contractor shall provide:

  • City Patrols:  to observe, record and report activities that are suspicious in nature, including documenting the activity and calling the RCMP to respond as required.
  • Block Watch: Organize and coordinate the Block Watch program on behalf of the City.
  • Security Alarm Response: Respond to after hours security alarm call-outs for City facilities. The Contractor will be listed as first responder on the call list.
  • Bylaw Offence Observations:   During the course of patrols, observe and report any activities which could be a municipal bylaw infraction to the municipal bylaw enforcement office.
  • Reporting: A monthly report on the service provided including observations and actions relative to inappropriate and suspicious activities for that period and/or other reports as necessary.
  • With appropriate communication and people skills, attempt to resolve any inappropriate activity where the attendance of the RCMP is not warranted.

REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL FOR A
MARKETING STRATEGY – MARKETING COORDINATOR

The City of Grand Forks has received approved funding from the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resources Operations and Rural Development of the Province of B.C. – Rural Dividend Program, for a Marketing Strategy-Marketing Coordinator aimed at bolstering the economic health of the City of Grand Forks and Area D of the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary.

This work will focus on strategies related to the economic revitalization of the business community and will require market research, community consultation and strategy development. It must include a focus (but not be limited to) on the development of a “Shop Local” campaign and culture, the development of a brand, marketing plan and all related strategies required to execute the plan. There is also funding available for a Marketing contractual position which may be responsible for the development of this work or may provide input into this work.

Compensation to be negotiated dependent upon qualifications and scope of the project.

EOI – Events Manager

EXPRESSION OF INTEREST & PRE-QUALIFICATION FOR AN
EVENTS MANAGER

The City of Grand Forks has approved funding from the Ministry of Forests, Lands, Natural Resources Operations and Rural Development – Rural Dividend Program, for an Events Manager dedicated to providing an events service for the City of Grand Forks and surrounding Area D of the Regional District of Kootenay Boundary for up to a two-year period on a contract basis.

The major objective is to plan, develop and provide a series of new events as well as to work with existing groups on events already within the City and Area D. The successful proponent requires high-level, ongoing communication with the local business community and key region stakeholders and must have a strong knowledge of the local business climate. This is a demanding and diverse role that includes a mix of administrative tasks, budgets, communication, events creation, coordination and organization, and would work in concert with a newly developed marketing strategy for the area.

Compensation to be negotiated dependent upon qualifications.

Invitation to Bid – Wastewater Treatment Facility upgrade

The City of Grand Forks invites Bids for construction of the work, which in general terms, will consist of a wastewater treatment facility upgrade including:
• Construction of a 95 m2 Centrifuge Building and a 93 m2 Centrifuge Cake Discharge Bay
• Upgrade Lagoon Cell 1 to a Sequential Batch Reactor Lagoon
• Installation of a Centrifuge
• Installation of 3 new 75 hp Blowers
• Installation of 2 – 5 hp Balancing Pumps
• Installation of duplex WAS pump station
• Installation of new Aeration Equipment in the existing extended aeration treatment train
• Installation of new Aeration Equipment in the existing balancing tank and sludge thickening tank
• Installation of various underground and aboveground piping
