Fire Permits

Due to the recent drop in temperatures and rise in moisture, the City of Grand Forks will now be issuing burn permits within city limits. All previously suspended permits are now valid. Campfires must be 0.5 metres by 0.5 metres or smaller.

Campfires to be Permitted in the Southeast Sept 2nd at 12:00 noon

On September 2nd at 12:00 noon campfires will be allowed in the Southeast Fire Centre. The current prohibition against any open fire larger then a campfire (i.e. larger than 0.5 m wide by 0.5 m high) remains in effect.

The following equipment and activities remain prohibited throughout the Southeast Fire Centre:

  • Category 2 and Category 3 open fires, as defined in the Wildfire Regulation.
  • the use of sky lanterns.
  • the use of fireworks.
  • the use of air curtain burners.
  • the use of burn barrels and burn cages.
  • the use of binary exploding targets.

Canco Fundraiser Donation to GFFR

A big thank you to Canco for presenting Grand Forks Fire/Rescue with new DeWalt portable battery operated lighting for our trucks with funds raised from a joint fundraiser at Canco on Aug. 12th. We always appreciate to opportunity to work together as a community!
